Health Navigation Partners was founded to provide discreet, independent guidance to individuals and families facing complex healthcare decisions. Our focus is to bring clarity, organization, and confidence to situations that often feel overwhelming.
Denise Mervis, PharmD, MBA, is the Founder and Principal Advisor of Health Navigation Partners. She brings extensive experience across multiple sectors of healthcare, including clinical practice, managed care, pharmaceutical medical affairs, clinical research, and patient advocacy. Dr. Mervis holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and is licensed as a pharmacist in both Pennsylvania and Texas. Having lived in Houston for the past decade after relocating from Pennsylvania, she offers a strong understanding of regional healthcare systems as well as broader national networks.
Throughout her career, Dr. Mervis has worked within health insurance and pharmacy benefit programs, developing a deep understanding of coverage requirements, prior authorization processes, and the structural challenges patients and families encounter when navigating complex care. She has collaborated closely with physicians, specialists, and healthcare organizations, contributing to clinical education initiatives, research efforts, and engagement with professional medical societies and patient advocacy groups.
In addition to her professional background, Denise has provided trusted guidance to friends and family navigating difficult healthcare situations. She has helped identify highly qualified providers, interpret treatment options, and coordinate care while thoughtfully incorporating personal priorities such as location, hospital preference, and quality of life. Through these experiences, she has found that the most critical element in any healthcare journey is a clear understanding of the individual—ensuring that decisions align not only with clinical considerations, but with what matters most to the patient.
Health Navigation Partners was created to extend this level of thoughtful, personalized support to others. We serve as an independent, objective resource—helping clients organize complex information, communicate effectively with providers, and make informed decisions with confidence. Our role is advisory and supportive; we do not provide medical care or treatment, but instead act as a dedicated partner focused entirely on the needs and priorities of those we serve.
